Going back to life drawing...rusty...Life drawing is always hard and challenging, no matter what. You always feel like on the edge and back to square one again and again. At least, I do...

The amazing world of Gumball-development

Image
Cleaning my files, I found some early development sketches from back in 2007-2008, when I was helping developing this amazing show with Mr. Bocquelet and the development studio team. I also did some storyboard on the pilot, but couldn't find any of it. I thought it'd be interesting for the fans out there. Some early Gumball doodles: When Gumball almost became a black cat. Some Miss Simian. When Richard was thought of as a blue dog: Hereafter are character ideas and concepts from different styles that could live in Gumball's world. Ben then chose his favourites. Some made it into the show some where left over. I'm giving them some public time here, so they don't remain forgot. This guy actually made it in the show, as an office worker. The original drawing of what became Principal Brown. Yes, Purple...don't ask why. Some more CN development posts to come soon, people!

Je me suis bien amusé. NEUFUNDLAND is now available for order here: neufundlandmag.bigcartel.com . It is a collective comic book that I was invited to contribute to, along with twenty other artists. It is limited to 1000 copies, so don't wait too long as it looks great!  I'd like to thank Jakob, Uwe, Sandra and Sebastian for having invited me. It was fun to do. For those who won't be lucky to get one, he...

I did this picture for the upcoming book of my good friend Marion Montaigne , famous in France for a drawn blog she does about science, which is hilarious. Each time, a fake reader sends a question on a postcard and she answers it it the most funny and unpredictable way, based on real scientific facts but speaking in the name of her avatar, the mustached professor.  She asked me to draw on of those cards. And it was fun! The text on the right says:"Why do all some women are a pain is the ass a bit complicated? BlueBeard"

Mr. Jack linocut @ Arludik

I'm sorry I've been neglecting this blog so much lately, but I'm working a lot on things I can't show yet and it doesn't let me a lot of spare time to do other things. But here is a little something I nonetheless managed to squeeze in...   This is a linocut "homemade" print I did for the upcoming collective homma...
